Switched At Birth on DVD December 13 {Review}

ABC Family's Switched At Birth is a heartwarming TV drama series about the experiences of  two teen girls after they discover that they were accidentally switched at birth.

From the moment I started watching the first episode of this series I was hooked.  The story is interesting and different and the characters are extremely relatable.

I love that the show is more traditional and family friendly as well.  It is definitively not all about violence or the same old vampire story. It is really refreshing to see a show that is more diverse and deals with various controversial themes like poor vs rich, deaf vs hearing and many more. All of them handled beautifully.

Switched at Birth is a wonderful show and I recommend you give it a chance.  There will also be more episodes coming to ABC Family next year and I can't wait for those.

The Volume One DVD has all episodes from 1 to 10 and it comes with a sheet of iPod Skins.  I used mine for my Shuffle and they are cute.  Great for any fan!  If you are looking for a family-friendly show that will keep you entertained and inspired then grab the DVD on December 13 and catch up  before the premiere next year.

About the show:

From the studio that brought you “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” comes a groundbreaking new drama about the upheaval that two teen girls experience when they discover that they were accidentally switched at birth. Starring Lea Thompson (Back To The Future, “Caroline In The City”), Constance Marie (“George Lopez”), Vanessa Marano (“Gilmore Girls”), Katie Leclerc (“Veronica Mars”), D.W. Moffett (“Friday Night Lights”), and Lucas Grabeel (Disney Channel’s “High School Musical”).

Bay Kennish (Marano), a talented graffiti artist with an edgy streak, grew up in a wealthy family with happily married parents and an older brother. Daphne Vasquez (Leclerc), an athletic teenager who lost her hearing at an early age, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. When the girls’ worlds collide, family bonds are tested, new romances are sparked, and they start to learn that it’s who they are inside that matters, not where they grew up. Relive the girls’ journey and catch up before the premiere with “Switched At Birth: Volume 1.” Including all 10 episodes plus exclusive collectible iPod skins, this two-disc set is a must-own for every fan!
