Little Pim: Fun with Languages, Learning Japanese {Giveaway}

 

We really want our son to learn a few languages during his first years and we believe that with the right resources and tools we can help him develop those skills.  It is such a big advantage to be bilingual in our society and giving our child the opportunity to learn a few different languages is very important to us.

I like interactive learning and being involved in my son's daily activities, so when I found the Little Pim Language Immersion Method I knew I wanted to try it out.  I have always wanted to learn Japanese and I thought it would be a great idea to get the Japanese Gift Set to feature.

Each Little Pim Japanese Gift Set comes with  3 DVDs (eating and drinking, wake up smiling and playtime) and a super adorable 8" soft plush Little Pim panda, all inside a see-through tote bag.

The DVDs (35 minutes long each) introduce children to 180 Japanese words and phrases. I really like that as soon as the DVD starts you are immediately immersed in the language as the entire DVD is spoken in Japanese. I like that you have an option to turn on subtitles in English though.  The subtitles make it easy for me to get started and help my son relate to the activities shown in the video.

I love how they introduce the words and phrases without interrupting the activities the people in the DVD are performing and that all of the activities are very relatable. It is easy to see how children learn the new words easily as they can associate the words with things they do everyday.  

I found that after watching the DVDs a few times I started to pick up a bunch of new words.   I learned how to say apple and banana, milk, water, yogurt, etc and also saying phrases like “He is eating” or “She is drinking milk”.  The DVDs are not only good for children but also for adults beginning to learn a new language.

Little Pim is an adorable Panda Bear and I love that he appears regularly in  the video.  My son absolutely loves him and he can't get enough of his plush Little Pim.

Little Pim is available in a wide variety of languages like Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Arabic and German. I really like their selection and that I can easily purchase one of their Italian or French sets to try next.  After trying it out Little Pim has become one of our favorite language learning systems at home.
